First Leg: Crossing under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
The first leg of the trip started Saturday March 31, 2007. Up the Chesapeake Bay, through the D&C Canal, down the Delaware Bay, through the Cape May Canal and up the New Jersey Coast to Ocean City. We saw six to eight foot seas with breaking waves coming out of the Canal and rolling seas up to Ocean City on Sunday afternoon. The boat did fine, but my one son did turn a little green for awhile.

Second Leg: New Jersey Coast
The second leg of the trip started Monday April 2, 2007 and took us up the NJ coast with another overnight run. Motoring up the New Jersey Coast in fog with a crew of four we kept someone at the wheel plus a lookout at all times using three hour shifts. The cockpit enclosure kept us warm and dry.
We arrived at Jersey City at 0400 Tuesday moring April 3, 2007 motoring in a dead calm.

Midway: Docked by Ocean City, NJ
An unscheduled stop, but things always work out and we enjoyed a pleasant evening dockside.
During the first leg of the trip and our first overnight run we ran one fuel tank dry and switched to the second tank which got air in the fuel lines "sucked air" and shut down the engine. After trying to bleed the air from the fuel lines for about two hours while underway under sail we called for a tow. It took the mechanic 1 1/2 hours under ideal conditions at dockside to break and bleed the lines. The engine ran fine for the rest of the trip.
